“Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth.” Luke 12: 33

Brothers and sisters,

What is our treasure in this world? What do we seek for? Fame, authority, money? We live in a world today that has taught us so many principles that are not aligned with the word of God. Those voices are so strong that we come to believe them as facts because they are logical and are evident in everyday life. The world says that in everything we do we need to look out for ourselves. However, scripture has taught us in the book of Mathew that if any man does not deny himself, he shall not see the kingdom of God.

Yet, we deny ourselves of entering the kingdom of God that has the promises of the father. In Luke 6: 38, the Bible says “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (KJV)_

According to Isaiah 58:7 downward, God promised us the wealth needed in this world when we give to the poor. He promised to take depression and darkness away from us. He says, “And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day” (Isaiah 58: 10).

So many blessings hath God promised us: Health and the righteousness of God (Isaiah 58:8), you shall call God and he will answer (Isaiah 58:9). riches in the time of drought (Isaiah 58:9). Lastly and most importantly, God says that “they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.” (Isaiah 58: 12).

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we should remember that the only true religion we have is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. (James 1:7)

Let us therefore not lust after our flesh but seek things that are above. They may not be seen but they give us the path to enter to our father, Jehovah El Shaddai, Elohim, Jireh
